Scope
This policy describes the Video Metadata Eraser app for Mac, iPhone and iPad and information you voluntarily send to its support contact. It does not replace the policies of Apple, your email provider, cloud storage providers or the website hosting this page.
Video processing and data collection
Video Metadata Eraser processes the videos you select on your device. The app does not automatically transmit your videos, their metadata, file paths, reports or usage information to the developer. The app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs and has no app account. It does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone or current location. Location already embedded in a selected video can be read as part of its metadata inspection.
File and Photos access
On Mac, the app accesses files and destination folders you select. On iPhone and iPad, a system picker provides the videos you choose from Photos or Files; the app does not request full-library read access. When you choose Save to Photos, the app requests add-only permission and creates a separate library item. Photos and file providers may use a network connection to retrieve or synchronize your chosen files under their own settings and policies. Videos are not sent to a developer-operated processing server.
Local storage and deletion
Language, appearance and report preferences are stored locally. On iPhone and iPad, temporary Photos imports are stored in the app's cache and are removed when their queue entries are removed or on the next launch. Recognized incomplete output staging files are cleaned up on the next launch. Completed working copies are stored separately in the app's Documents/Cleaned Videos folder and are available through Saved Copies and Files. Copies exported to Photos, Files or a Mac destination folder stay there until you delete them. Removing an item from the app's queue does not delete your original or completed outputs. Device backup and cloud synchronization depend on your operating system and provider settings. On Mac, completed copies are stored in your chosen destination folder.
Reports and limits of metadata removal
Inspection reports can show original metadata, including location, dates, authorship, device information and local file paths. The app does not automatically send these reports to the developer. Exporting or sharing a report is your choice. Review it before sharing. Cleaning removes only supported fields and data structures; the app shows retained information where detected. Unknown metadata, information inside a video bitstream, filesystem attributes and Photos library information may remain. Cleaning is not a guarantee of anonymity.
Purchases
The optional batch unlock is a one-time non-consumable purchase handled by Apple's App Store and StoreKit. The app verifies purchase entitlements using Apple's services and signed transaction information. The developer does not receive your payment card details through the app. Purchase, restore and account data handled by Apple are subject to Apple's policies. Single-video cleaning does not require this purchase or an app account.
Support correspondence
If you email support, the developer receives your email address, the message and any attachments you choose to send. This information is used to answer your request and investigate the issue. It is handled through the email service used for support and kept only as long as needed for that purpose or applicable obligations. Do not include sensitive material unless it is necessary and you choose to share it. You can request deletion of support correspondence using the contact on the Support page. The developer cannot remotely access or delete videos stored on your device or with your chosen storage provider.
Your choices and contact
You control file selection, exports and report sharing. You can manage Photos permission in your device settings, remove app-local files through Files, and remove exported copies in their destination. For privacy questions or support-data requests, use the developer contact on the Support page, linked from this website and the app's App Store listing. There is no app account to delete.
Changes
This policy will be updated if the app's data practices change. The current policy and its update date will be available on this page.
