GIF moving.
Help with importing a video, choosing settings and exporting your GIF.

Please include your device model, operating system, app version, what you tried and any error message. A screenshot with private details removed can help. There is no need to send your original video.

Common questions
Which videos can I open?
MP4, MOV and other formats readable by your device. Codec support depends on your operating system. Protected, damaged or unsupported files may not open. For a cloud-backed video, let the system download it first; try importing a local copy from Files or Finder if needed.
How do I make a smaller GIF?
Shorten the clip, crop unnecessary areas, reduce dimensions, lower the frame rate, or use fewer colors. Try Smallest first, then Compare 3 versions to see actual output sizes. These changes reduce detail or smoothness. A GIF is not guaranteed to be smaller than its source video.
What are the three presets?
Smallest uses up to 240 px on the longest side, 6 fps and 64 colors. Balanced uses up to 360 px, 10 fps and 128 colors. Detail uses up to 480 px, 15 fps and 256 colors. The app does not upscale the source; its original frame rate may also limit the result.
Why is there no sound, or why do the colors look different?
GIF does not support audio and has a limited color palette. Fine gradients and some colors can change during conversion. The current version renders transparent areas against black. GIF conversion is not intended to preserve the full visual range of HDR video.
Why was a long or high-resolution export rejected?
A selection can contain up to 30 seconds of source video and produce up to 60 seconds of GIF playback. The app also limits work to 1,500 sampled frames and a 600 million total-pixel processing budget. Use a shorter selection, smaller dimensions or lower frame rate and try again.
How do I save or share a GIF?
On Mac, use Save GIF… or the share control. On iPhone and iPad, use the available Photos, Files or share actions. Saving to Photos requires permission to add an item. If it is denied, enable the applicable permission in Settings or save to Files instead. Some messaging and social apps display or convert GIFs differently.
Does GIFPico change the original video?
No. The app works from a local copy and creates separate GIF files. The original video is not overwritten. Conversion does not remove private details that are visible within the selected frames.
Where are my working files stored?
Imported working copies and generated GIFs are kept in app-local storage and may remain after restarting the app, even if the interface is empty. Replacing a video does not erase all older files. Use your operating system’s app storage or data removal options, or email support for guidance. Delete exported copies separately from their destinations.
Can I use it offline?
Conversion is local and does not require a developer server. A file stored only in iCloud or another cloud provider must first be downloaded. Email, website links, App Store services and sharing to online destinations require their own connections.
When can I download it, and what will it cost?
GIFPico is currently in development. The App Store link, availability and final pricing will be announced on the overview page when confirmed. No release date is promised here.
